Small measures 32.7″ in length and is best for heights between 4’5″ – 5’5″
Medium measures 34.7″ in length and is best for heights between 5’5″ – 6’1″
Large measures 37.7″ in length and is best for heights over 6’1″

Find the right Reacher-Grasper Cane size for you in 4 easy steps:
- It is important to measure while wearing the shoes you regularly use for walking.
- Stand upright and relax your arms at your sides. There should be a normal, relaxed bend at your elbow.
- Ask someone to measure the distance from your wrist joint down to the floor.
- Refer to the Handy Cane sizing above and choose the Reacher-Grasper Cane size closest to this measurement.
Most people find the 4 steps above to be the easiest way to determine the Reacher-Grasper Cane size that is best suited to them.
For special circumstances such as an injury, a condition that prevents you from walking upright or a condition that requires you to have more than a natural bend in your elbow, you may choose to ask your physician/physical therapist for assistance in measuring.

No cane is designed to hold a person’s entire body weight. But, the Reacher-Grasper Cane is made with high quality materials, including aircraft grade aluminum, making it strong enough to support up to 350 pounds when the cane is held correctly. It is important to understand that it is the shaft of the cane that supports your weight, so always grasp the Reacher-Grasper Cane handle firmly toward the front of the handle so that your weight is applied to the shaft of the cane, not to the back of the handle.
To activate the grabber, simply locate the sleeve in the middle of the cane shaft. Slide the plastic sleeve up towards the handle until it clicks into place. As you do this, the trigger will emerge from the handle. Then simply squeeze the trigger to grab an item. To tuck the grabber away, squeeze the trigger and slide the sleeve down until it clicks back into place. Once the grabber is tucked away, you are ready to use the Reacher-Grasper Cane as a walking aid again.
No. The Reacher-Grasper Cane should only be used for walking when the grabber is closed. The grabber is not designed to support weight or aid in walking. Walking or placing weight on the cane while the grabber is open does not provide the correct stability or support. Always be sure to tuck the grabber away before walking or applying weight by squeezing the trigger on the handle of the cane and sliding the sleeve down until it clicks into place. Now, with the grabber closed, you are ready to use the Handy Cane as a walking aid.
The sleeve, located in the middle of the cane shaft, can give you support and leverage when reaching for heavier objects, or when reaching for objects on a high shelf. You may find it helpful to grab the sleeve with your free hand when lifting an item.
You should only use the Reacher-Grasper Cane to grab items that you could easily grab, lift or carry with your own hand, up to a weight of 5 pounds. Please do not use the Reacher-Grasper Cane to lift items that weigh over 5 pounds.
